She - the woman of mettle

It ain't the 60's anymore. The women won't shy away from being themselves. If anything, they are now more vocal, and omnipresent in all the diverse fields like never before. They won't give in to demands, even if they are expected to. The women of today are strong, opinionated and they have a vision - for themselves, for the women in the society and the world.

Women empowerment is not for namesake anymore. The tables have turned and how! But, it isn't the end of the road. We still have a long way to go. A lot more women out there are awaiting the freedom; the voice; the rights they deserve.

Here's a little something for the women who have conquered against all odds to reach the zenith.

She rose

like the Phoenix,

with every blow

of life.

Like the rise

and fall of the tides;

she witnessed

her growth amidst.

A woman of mettle -

they called her.

Hidden inside her

were the turmoil of emotions.

Her eyes sparkled -

now with confidence.

Her work shimmered -

with her skills.

She was growing

like never before.

The naysayers had now

become her cheerleaders.

It ain't easy -

she always knew.

But, it'd be worth it -

she had affirmed.

And, that's how

She rose

like the Phoenix,

with every blow

of life.

Ending this chapter with a quote relevant for ages to come: “We need women who are so strong they can be gentle, so educated they can be humble, so fierce they can be compassionate, so passionate they can be rational, and so disciplined they can be free.” —Kavita Ramdas, advocate
